Olivet Christian Nursery School
Olivet Christian Nursery School, or OCNS, was founded in 1967, and is a non-profit parent cooperative open to three, four and five year-olds for half day sessions.
Children attending OCNS must be toilet-trained. Each class will have no more than nineteen children, and will have two salaried teachers and one parent helper every day. This ensures an excellent ratio of approximately six children per adult.
Preschool 1 classes include children who are three years old or have recently turned four. Children in Preschool 2 classes are four or five years old.

Philosophy
We believe that children learn best in a play-based environment, nurtured by experienced and caring teachers. The basic parent co-op philosophy is Child Activitiesone of shared responsibility, in which parents and teachers work together to provide a positive preschool experience.
It is the goal of parents and teachers to foster a love of learning and feelings of self-confidence through an enriched environment that stimulates curiosity and development of skills.
The educational needs of the whole child are facilitatedthrough a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Hand-on activities promote social, emotional, cognitive, physical and creative growth at the developmental level of each individual child.
