Meets the first Thursday of the month from 6:00 to 8:00 PM
We introduce a new theme for each session. Then we select scripture that supports that theme and compile some thought-provoking questions to generate a healthy discussion. A light meal will be served; no registration required.
Next session: Introducing Thursday Table Talks!
This fall, Table Talks begin a new rhythm. Starting in September, we’ll gather the first Thursday of every month, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Olivet Teen Room for evenings of Scripture, conversation, and a warm meal.
We’re launching the season on Thursday, September 3, with a special guest. Pastor Chris Hanley of Glenwood Lutheran Church will lead an interactive, from-memory recitation of the Book of Philippians, followed by group discussion. Hearing an entire New Testament letter in one sitting offers a fresh perspective on Paul’s message—whether you’re revisiting Philippians or hearing it with fresh ears.
On Thursday, October 1, we’ll explore Living the Sermon on the Mount, discovering what it means to put Jesus’ most challenging teachings into practice in our everyday lives.
Then, on Thursday, November 5, we’ll take a fresh look at the Bible’s Most Misunderstood Stories, uncovering surprising insights and new meaning in some of Scripture’s most familiar passages.
Whether you’ve attended Table Talks for years or have never joined us before, this is a great time to jump in.
Mark your calendar for the first Thursday of each month. We hope you’ll join us for inspiring evenings of Scripture, meaningful conversation, and a warm meal.
